Fillipo Bentivegna, an illiterate Sicilian peasant, in an extraordinary example of the passion of one artists life; carved 6,000 individual heads between 1917 and his death in 1967. He combined them into conglomerations, assemblages, towers and amphitheaters in his Giardino Encantado, in Sciaca, Sicily. These drawings were done on site in his world.
